Cassie / King of Hearts (R3hab Remix + Video)

There’s a lot of things in pop I wish would stop, but the continued milking of “King of Hearts” isn’t one of them. In true 90’s Bad Boy fashion Cassie & Co. have shot a brand new video for the R3hab Remix version of 2012’s premier dance cut, and between this version, the celestial Richard X mix from a few weeks ago, and the original; I’m not sure which glorious variation I like the most (we can all agree the Kanye mix is the worst).

Kris Allen / Vision Of Love

We found BPM in an unexpected place - who knew Kris Middle Of The Road Allen had it in him? He was never a boring guitar player, just a dancefloor diva in disguise! European duo Maison & Dragen remix Kris’ upcoming single “Vision Of Love” into something absolutely epic. You’ve never heard Kris go in on a song like this. When that falsetto hits… sweet baby Jesus, I just can’t.

It’s so god damn determined.

“WHEN A HEART BREAKS
AND THE WORLD SHAKES
WILL WE STAND FOR THE VISION OF LOVE????”

Like it’s the most important question in the world. WILL WE stand for the vision of love?? Yes, yes Kris, we will in fact STANd for the Vision Of Love. This is a worldwide hit in the making. His label would be stupid not to give this version an international release. The UK and Europe would rinse their radio stations with it, even if the USA has to endure the (soon to be released) original version, which is said to be more in-line with his pop-rock roots.

Someone needs to call StarGate immediately. Get Alex Guadino on the phone. Ring David Guetta. Make a call to Calvin Harris. Put the batman signal in the sky and alert Rusko. THIS MAN IS A DANCE ARTIST. Kris puts out boring man-with-a-guitar stuff for a living, but he could have a serious side-hustle going on overseas with this beautiful thing we like to call Pop.

Girls’ GenerationThe Boys (Robotaki Remix)

I was not kind to SNSD when I first reviewed “The Boys”, and deservedly so, but it’s not all bad news. The remixes and refixes have started pouring in, attempting to cure some of the myriad of problems with the original version of the song. This one is my favorite though. Long-time K-Pop remix master Robotaki (also responsible for the only listenable version of KARA’s “Rock U”) completely transforms “The Boys” from dated R&B disaster to chill disco delight, with beastly beats reminiscent of the one and only JUSTICE before they became shit

Someone give this guy a call and have him produce the repackage single! Because you know it’s coming. Human rights ain’t a damn thing. SM will have these poor girls flying back and forth from Korea and the US with a recording studio on the plane. Just to have a repackaged album out by year’s end. No winter holiday for you girls, Mr. Soo-Man wants his Won and he wants it NOW!

Rye Rye × Robyn  Never Will Be Mine (Burns Remix)

I wasn’t exactly moved by Rye Rye’s Robyn-assisted “Never Will Be Mine” when it was first released back in June, but this remix version has been on heavy rotation for me in these late summer days. It removes a bit of that saccharine feeling the original had which I didn’t like so much. There’s even a new video for this mix (how very 90’s of them!) which you can view up top.

Meanwhile, we’re all still waiting for Go! Pop! Bang!, Ryeisha’s way-too-long-awaited debut album which is now slated for release this fall. ALLEGEDLY.
